This article outlines adding and setting up a new VEDR device to your GroundCloud account.
Step 1: Add the VEDR device to your GroundCloud Account
Go to the Devices page.
Click '+ Add VEDR Device' on the top right.
Enter the Serial Number and Wi-Fi password (found on the physical device or on the back of the installation booklet).
Click Submit to add the device.
Step 2: Assign a Vehicle to the new VEDR Device
Unassign the Vehicle to the VEDR Device
If your device has a vehicle already assigned to it, follow the steps below:
Locate the current device assigned to the vehicle.
Click on the Device Name.
Click Edit Device in the top right corner.
Change the assigned vehicle to "Not Assigned" and click Submit.
Assign a Vehicle to the VEDR Device
If the vehicle is available on the 'Active Devices' list:
Go to the Devices page and find the VEDR device.
Click Assign Vehicle, select the vehicle from the dropdown menu, and click Submit. Refer to the section below if the vehicle is not listed in the dropdown menu.
If the vehicle is not available on the 'Active Devices' list:
Filter to All Devices and check that the vehicle is not already assigned to another device.
If not found, go to the Vehicles tab.
If the vehicle isn't visible, switch the filter view from 'Active Vehicles' to 'All Vehicles.'
If the vehicle appears, click on the Vehicle ID, select the arrow next to Edit Vehicle, and choose Reactivate.
Step 3: Deactivate the Old VEDR Devices
Copy the serial numbers of the old devices.
Email support@groundcloud.com with the serial numbers to request their removal from the active devices list.
