Scanner Actions
Stop Open: When the driver begins to deliver the package(s) to a stop.
Stop Code: When the driver applies a status code to the packages assigned to the stop.
Stop Closed: When the driver completes the delivery to a house. Closing the stop is the last action to complete a delivery. This setting will turn on/off the icon that shows where the driver closed the stop. If it is unchecked, the icon will not show.
Use Cases
Disputed Delivery: A disputed delivery is when a customer calls in to state that they never received their package. When this happens, it is up to them to conduct an investigation to determine where that package was delivered. The potential finding could be:
The driver delivered it correctly and someone at the location did not inform everyone of where the package was placed.
The package was delivered to a neighbor.
A package was mixed in with another stop.
In any case, knowing the exact location where the package was last scanned can increase the likelihood of it being located. This can eliminate the cost of a claim or allow for the contractor to retrieve and redeliver to the correct location.
Additionally, when only one driver knows how to run a route, it can be difficult to cover if they are sick, decide to pursue new opportunities, or need to be replaced. Displaying the locations from the scanner will allow managers to either communicate to the driver that they need to begin updating locations or give the manager accurate information to move the pins to the correct house.
