In this article, we go over the ways you can end a driver's shift.
Default Shift End
GroundCloud automatically ends a driver's shift when they enter the terminal geofence. You can set time padding to account for the driver finishing work at the terminal and exiting the building.
Enable and disable geofence clock out: Geofence distance is controlled by the Auto-clock out distance setting. The default setting is 600 feet, which means drivers coming within 600 feet of the terminal initiate their clock out. Setting this value to “0” disables the auto-clock out functionality.
Controlling padding time: The padding time added at the end of the shift is controlled by the setting Auto-clock out Padding. Set this value to the amount of time you want to be added to the shift after the driver is detected in the terminal.
End-of-day fallback: Auto-clock out after in GroundCloud has the option to set an end-of-day time to clock out all drivers who are still logged in.
Set the value to the time of day when no drivers are working past. This is the forced log-out time.
This function does not always just set the end of the shift as the value entered. This feature determines the last known good location of the app and sets the end of shift to that time. This is particularly useful for apps that may lose service in the terminal but have good locations reported right outside the terminal.
Manual Shift End Mechanisms
Work stop buttons are found in two locations. These buttons are not restricted by any settings and are considered the source of truth as the driver enters the value.
