Inspection Settings


Setting Up DVIR

  1. Navigate to the Inspection Settings page in GroundCloud.io under the Fleet Management section.

  2. Enable DVIR to trigger an inspection report when drivers log into the GroundCloud® Driver App to begin their route.

  3. Choose which inspection points to include in the report.


Configuring Inspection Points

Each inspection point can have specific settings that determine how drivers interact with it in the DVIR. The following options are available:

  1. Required: The driver must input a response before completing the inspection.

  2. Warn on True/False Value: Sends a notification if the driver selects a true/false value as specified.

  3. Error on True/False Value: Prevents the driver from completing the DVIR if the specified true/false value is selected.

  4. Warn on Any Value: Sends a notification if any input is entered.

  5. Error on Any Value: Prevents the driver from proceeding if any input is entered.

  6. Warn if Value in Range: Sends a notification if the input falls within a specified range.

  7. Error if Value in Range: Prevents the DVIR from being completed if the input falls within a specified range.


Common Use Cases

  • Set Warn if Value in Range for Tire Tread between 0 to 4/32 to receive notifications when tire tread is low.

  • Select Warn on Any Value but do not mark Required for Body Damage to allow optional reporting while ensuring notifications are sent if damage is recorded.

  • Choose Error on Any Value and Warn on Any Value for Fluid Under Vehicle to prevent drivers from proceeding if fluid is detected and notify management immediately.

  • Set Error on False Value for Turn Signals OK to prevent the driver from starting their route if turn signals are not functioning.

  • Mark Odometer and Vehicle ID as Required to ensure maintenance reports and notifications receive accurate updates.


Completing Inspections

  1. When DVIR is enabled, a Pre-Trip Inspection appears in the GroundCloud® Driver App when drivers log in.

  2. All fields marked as Required must be completed before proceeding to the route and manifest data.

  3. A Post-Trip Inspection is triggered when the driver returns to the terminal at the end of the day.

  4. Geofencing determines when the driver has arrived at the terminal. For the Post-Trip Inspection to be triggered, the driver’s tablet must be powered on with a cellular connection.
