Driver Scheduler

The Driver Schedule shows all driver shifts and the routes to which they are assigned. From this page, you can create and manage your team's shift schedule, assign routes and plan weeks in advance. Information placed on the schedule is available to drivers when they use their driver account to log in to GroundCloud.io, or when they log into the Driver App.

Note: Steps for drivers to check their schedule have been outlined in this article.

Note: Requires Driver App version iOS 1.4.16, Android 1.3.8, or later.

Two views are available on the scheduler: Driver View and Route View. These views can be toggled between using the dropdown at the top of the page.

Driver View

Driver view shows the schedule by day and driver.

Route View

Route view shows the schedule by day and route.

From this view, you can click on the schedule to assign a driver to a route. In the popup window, select the start and end dates of the shift associated with the route and the driver you wish to assign to it.

Creating a Time Entry

  1. You can adjust the calendar view in the upper right. The horizontal scroll bar may need to be used to see the full selected date range.

  2. Use your mouse to click where you would like to schedule a time entry. This displays the Add Time Entry window where you can set the date, time, entry type and route. Time can be scheduled as a Scheduled Shift or as Time Off.

  3. Be sure to confirm that the driver's name and date are accurate in the popup window.

  4. Once the start, end and entry type are filled out, click Save to complete the time entry.

Adjusting Scheduled Time

You can adjust the time of an already created time entry from the Driver Scheduler page. The entry type cannot be changed, but it can be deleted and a new one created.

  1. Click a time entry to bring up the Edit Time Entry window. This window is similar to the Add Time Entry window, but it has the option to delete that entry.

  2. Enter the updated start and end time for the entry.

  3. Click Save to complete the adjustment.

Copy From Previous

You can quickly and easily copy a previous week's schedule using the Copy From Previous option in the Driver Schedule.

  1. To start, navigate to the week you would like to schedule.

  2. Click the Copy From Previous button. You are prompted with a dropdown to select any previously scheduled week to duplicate.

  3. Confirm your selection, and click Preview to display the selected shifts and time off on your schedule, which can be applied or canceled.

  4. If the selected week looks good, click Apply, and the shifts will be duplicated onto the selected week.

Driver SMS Notifications

Driver Schedule notifications are sent via text message to drivers at 10 am on Friday in their local time as a reminder that they are scheduled for a shift the following week.

The message contains a link for the driver to view his/her schedule.

To enable SMS notifications, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to GroundCloud.io.

  2. Go to the Settings tab.

  3. Under the Scheduling section, check the box for Weekly Text Reminder.

  4. Click Submit at the bottom of the page.

Note: This feature is available to all drivers with a valid phone number associated with their driver profile. For instructions on how to add or edit a phone number in a driver profile, read this article.

Warning: A change to the schedule does not send an additional notification to the driver.
