VEDR - Adding an Out of Service Window

When to Use an Out-of-Service Window

Out-of-Service Windows should be created when a vehicle is not being used to perform services under an agreement with FX, including the following scenarios:

  • Service-to-service provider rental: When service providers lease vehicles under "Schedule B" to other service providers.

  • Personal conveyance: When the vehicle is used for personal business.

  • Maintenance: When the vehicle is in the shop for repairs or servicing.

  • Other contractual use: When the vehicle is used for work not covered under an agreement with FX.

  • Spare: When the vehicle is parked and not in use for services.

Assigning a device to one of the categories above will not stop the VEDR device from monitoring or reporting events. The device will continue to capture video during incidents; however, this data will not be included in KI calculations.

Out-of-Service Windows must be created in advance and cannot be set in the past.

Adding an Out-of-Service Window

To add an Out-of-Service Window:

  1. Navigate to the Devices page in your Groundcloud.io Management Portal. Note the Service Status column on this page shows the device's current status.

  2. Click the device you want to mark as "Out of Service" to open its details page.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page to the Out-of-Service Windows section. Here, you can add, edit, or delete an out-of-service window.

  4. Click + Add Out of Service Window.

  5. Input the relevant details and click Submit.

Important Things to Note

Keep the following in mind when using Out-of-Service Windows:

  • The device will continue to monitor and record as usual.

  • VEDR Events will appear on your Events page but will not be included in your KI Scores.

  • You can edit active Out-of-Service Windows to extend or shorten the end date as needed.

  • Adding or editing Out-of-Service Windows for past dates is not allowed.
