GroundCloud navigates drivers to the street address of stops. However, some delivery addresses have multiple delivery locations or a delivery location that differs from the marked street address. When marking off a stop as delivered, drivers have the option to adjust the stop location if they are outside the set delivery radius. This article explains how to set the delivery radius and update stop locations.
Delivery Check Radius
The Delivery Check Radius sets an area on the map surrounding each stop in which a driver can deliver a package.
The radius, shown on the map as a blue circle surrounding the stop, determines how close drivers need to be to the marked stop location to complete the stop.
To adjust this radius:
Log in to your management portal.
Go to the Fleet Tracking section under the Settings tab.
Change the radius.
Click Submit to save any changes.
Updating Location
If a driver attempts to deliver a package while outside the delivery check radius, they receive this prompt:
OK - No Delivery: Keeps stop marked as undelivered.
Set Stop to Current Location: Updates the location of the stop to the driver's current location.
Override Distance Check: Marks the stop as delivered without a location update.
Selecting Set Stop to Current Location creates a new marker at the current location, showing the distance from the stop. This will reveal three to four pins for this stop:
Current Parking Location: The current marked parking location.
Current Door Location: The current marked door location. (This marker does not appear if no door location has been set).
New Parking Location: The new parking location from this location is updated.
New Door Location: The new door location from this location has been updated.
How to Add and Move Location Pins in the Driver App
Go to My Drive.
Click on the stop address.
Click Update to Current Location.
If no door location has been set, select Add Door Location to add a Door Delivery pin to the map that can be placed at the appropriate location.
Click and hold on to the New Location pins to drag and drop them to the updated locations. Drivers are directed to the Parking Location of each stop and then to the Door Location for delivery.
Select Confirm New Location. Newly set location updates are saved and applied to this address for all future deliveries. Location updates are accurate to address line two stop information, so stop updates can be made for multiple delivery points with a shared street address.
Viewing Location Updates in the Manager Portal
You can view and delete driver-made location updates in the Manager Portal under the Location Updates page. Each update is linked to the driver who made it. Note: Adjustments to delivery and parking locations must be made in the GroundCloud app, as they cannot be edited in the Manager Portal.
To view and manage Location Updates:
Access the Manager Portal and navigate to the Location Updates page.
Sort by Driver Name (upper left) to view all location updates a specific driver makes.
Review the list of location updates associated with the selected driver.
Delete Individual Updates: Click the trash bin icon next to a particular update.
Delete All Updates: Click the Delete All button to remove all location updates made by that driver.
Use Page Selection to ensure that only unwanted updates are deleted before confirming your action.
